The Benefits of Meal Planning

Meal planning might seem like sometime small that won’t make a big difference in your life, but this simple step can make big changes in your life.

Here are just a few of the benefits:

Meal planning saves money. Meal planning gives you an exact list of foods and ingredients you will need for the entire week. This means you don’t have to guess on your shopping list and you can “shop” for your fridge and pantry and use up things before they go bad.

Plus with a good plan, you will be less likely to opt for fast food or going out to eat.

Meal planning saves your sanity! I don’t know how many times, 5:00 has rolled around and I am standing in the kitchen, staring in the fridge wondering what in the world should I make tonight?!? But with meal planning you won’t have to wonder or scrounge around for something to cook.

Meal planning tells you what to do. Your plan tells you the future, so you know what meat to defrost, what items to shop for, what ingredients to set out, etc. And this makes your life less stressful!

Of course, meal planning only works as well as you make it.

If you write out a plan and then forget about it, or forget to check it the day before, it likely won’t help you. This is why I suggest posting your printable meal planner in the kitchen in a visible place- like on the fridge.
