Free Printable Fraction Strips for Kids (PDF)
Fraction strips are printed on cardstock or colored paper and used to teach fractions.
Each strip is the same length and divided into halves, thirds, fourths, fifths, sixths, eighths, tenths, and twelfths.
Fraction strips are useful for helping kids identify fractions, showing equivalent fractions, showing parts of a whole, and for a visual representation of diving fractions.

How to Use Fraction Strips for Learning
Not sure what to do with these free printable fraction strips? Here are a few ideas on how to incorporate them into your classroom or homeschool:
Use the fraction strips to match equivalent fractions. Have your child match strips that have equivalent lengths such as 1/2 and 2/4 and 3/6. Have them identify the fraction names.
Use the fraction strips as a manipulative when solving math problems. Allow students to use the strips to help them solve fraction problems in their books or worksheets.
Just let them explore! Sometimes play is the best way to learn. Allow your child to play and explore the fraction strips. This can be a great item to include in a math center!
Use the fraction strips to visually depict division of fractions. Such a 1 ÷ 1/4. Have the student take the 1 strip and the 1/4 strip and show that 1 ÷ 1/4 = 4 because there are 4 groups of 1/4 in a whole.
